An actual great interview!

My only problem with this interview is that Frank is so down on the Beasties. I think, had he spent more (any?) time with "Paul's Boutique" (and, to a less degree, "Check Your Head" - the final album before Frank's death), perhaps he may have had a different take. Either way, what a guy. Absolute genius.

Watching this interview made me have a stronger appreciation for Frank Zappa and his music. He is clear and confident in his opinions. It was heartbreakingly beautiful when he explained why he didn’t care to be remembered. So unfortunate that his fondness for cigarettes more than likely sped up his early death. Seems like some people in the comments haven’t been able to tell he was joking with his remarks about his love for tobacco.

My Life with Frank Zappa 1968-1971 Laurel Canyon'. It is my story from meeting Frank in London when publicising the Mother's first European tour in 1967 and ended up living and working in his house with Gail, Moon Unit, and seven others, thus the book's unique access.

Frank strikes me as amoral, and having an atheist or agnostic opinion. I might have wanted to talk to Frank about theology. Did he believe in evolution or the Big Bang. I don’t ! It seems to me there is no avoiding a supernatural explanation for the natural world. It’s illogical to conclude the universe just jumped into existence from nothing, then designed all that we see in the physical universe through a blind process of time + matter + chance. ( and btw, where did the matter come from? ) Frank likely would have cut that line of reasoning off quickly, and called me an *## hole, and perhaps hate me for bringing it up. But I admire the guy enough to at least try.
